The Problem
Parents often find themselves changing diapers on restroom floors, in vehicles, or unsafe locations because businesses lack changing tables.
Our Solution
Through the Be Well With Mama No Floor Required Initiative, we remove the cost barrier for local businesses to install changing tables. By funding installations, we create safe, clean, and dignified spaces where families and caregivers can comfortably care for their children.
We believe every caregiver deserves equal access to essential parenting resources. That means advocating for changing tables in women's, men's, and family restrooms. Unfortunately 90% of dads have gone into a restroom lacking a changing table. This initiative ensures not only female but male caregivers are not forced to change a child on the floor, in a vehicle, or in unsafe conditions simply because a facility wasn't designed with them in mind.
This initiative supports accessibility and inclusion, promotes public health, and helps normalize caregiving needs in community spaces. Together, we make it easier for parents and caregivers to step out with confidence, knowing their family's basic needs will be respected, accommodated, and accessible to everyone.
The Process to Receive a Changing Table

Nominations
We rely on community members to tell us which businesses are in need of changing tables. Whether you are a community member, business owner, or parent, please help us fill this gap in our community. Please scroll down to nominate a business.

Contact Business
Our installation team will contact the nominated business within 1-2 weeks of nomination to see if they are interested in the program.

Site Evaluation
Our installation team will conduct a site assessment to determine what materials will be needed for installation.

Waitlist
The business will stay on our waitlist until we get funding for a changing table. Funding can come from grants, donations, or sponsorships.

Grants
We are continually applying for grants to help cover the expense of installing new changing tables.

Donations
We depend on the generosity of goodwill donors who buy items from our changing table registry. Please consider purchasing something.

Sponsorships
A changing table costs $250. You may sponsor one on behalf of a favorite business, a charitable organization, your own company, or in honor of a loved one or a special occasion.

Installation
Once all materials are funded, we will schedule a time to install the changing table. After installation, it will be added to our community changing table map.

What types of businesses can be nominated?

Our current guidelines for this initiative state that only locally owned and operated businesses in Adams, Allen, Dekalb, Noble, Huntington, Whitley and Wells counties in Indiana are eligible to receive changing tables.
Can I nominate a business I own?

Yes — we accept any locally owned and operated business in need of a changing table, whether you personally own the business or not. If you’re affiliated with a community group, nonprofit, daycare, storefront, restaurant, salon, or other local establishment that serves families, we’re happy to help.
can i nominate a large chain or corporation?

At this time we cannot accept large chains or corporations. However, we encourage you to use the template below to notify stores when you’re having difficulty using their restrooms because they lack a changing table. Many larger corporations have facility, maintenance, and capital improvement budgets for items like changing tables. They often act when customers request them. Copy, personalize, and send this message by email or through a store’s customer feedback form.
